Cam Newton and Carolina Panthers defeated in Super Bowl 50 by Denver Bronco defence

Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers were defeated 24-10 by the defence of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.  The many miscues, including interceptions, fumbles, overthrown passes, not to mention penalty yards were the name of the game tonight for the offensive units of both teams.

Watch HIGHLIGHTS of the game

Although Peyton Manning committed less errors on the field than his counterpart Newton, Von Miller was the hero of the game for the Broncos.  Miller was outstanding on the Broncos defence, shutting down the running and passing plays of Cam Newton time after time.

The win is a milestone for Peyton Manning, his second Super Bowl ring, and record breaking 200th NFL win, both a great way to end his football career.  If that is what he decides to do…

Halftime report for Super Bowl 50

Well, the first half of Super Bowl 50 was eventful, if not in the scoring, then in the mistakes and turnovers.  Two fumbles and several overthrown passes by the Carolina Panthers and one interception thrown by Peyton Manning is keeping the score close.  Both defensive squads are playing well keeping both quarterbacks from running up the points offensively.

The halftime show featuring Cold Play, Bruno Mars and Beyonce was awesome.  Chris Martin’s bouncy, bent-over antics, Bruno Mars’ unique voice and dancing skills, with Beyonce’s legs and booty blended together for a spectacular show including a salute to Super bowl halftime performers of the past…

If you missed it live, watch the performance HERE

Although the Denver Broncos are leading the Carolina Panthers at halftime by a score of 13-7, the title of Super Bowl 50 champs is still up for grabs…

Are you ready for some football?

Are you ready for some football?  Super Bowl 50 just got underway in San Francisco with Lady Gaga singing the American national anthem.  What an incredible voice!

The Carolina Panthers quarterbacked by Cam Newton faces off against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning.  The 26 year old, brash, confident, youngster vs the 39 year old, calm, soft-spoken veteran; who will reign supreme?

The snacks are ready…

Since my husband thinks the Carolina Panthers will win big, I am cheering for the Denver Broncos…….stay tuned

Superbowl Disappointment in New Jersey

Thankfully Bruno Mars’ half time show was worth the watch; the game itself was a disappointment.  Unless of course, you are a Seattle Seahawks fan…

Denver Bronco’s superstar quarterback Peyton Manning never got his game on.  A turnover on the first play of the game resulted in a safety for the Seahawks and things only got worse for him from there. Manning and the rest of the Broncos threw interceptions and fumbled the ball repeatedly, with the Seahawks scoring on many of these mistakes.  I believe there were six turnovers in all, including two badly thrown interceptions.

The MVP of the game was awarded to Malcolm Smith from the Seahawks’ dominating defensive squad, a great choice as it was obvious that  the league’s top offense (Broncos) was no match for the league’s top defense (Seahawks)   The only glimpse of the Bronco’s offensive finesse came late in the game with a touchdown pass from Manning to Damaryius Thomas.  Unfortunately for the Broncos and their fans it was too little, too late…

The Seahawks however showed scoring ability from many players, both offensive and defensive.  An early interception by Kam Chancellor resulted in a run down the field followed by a subsequent touchdown by Marshall Lynch.  A second interception saw Malcolm Smith pick off another errant pass from Manning followed by a 69 yard run  into the end zone.   A magnificent 87 yd. kick return by Percy Harvin gave the Seahawks yet another touchdown.  Quarterback Russell Wilson hit receiver Jermaine Kearse with a few spectacular throws, one of which resulted in a touchdown and another coming very close.  Kicker Steven Hauschka did his job with two field goals and the extra points on each touchdown.

This was a first superbowl win for the Seattle Seahawks.   I do like to see the underdog win. Congratualtions to their players and fans.
