The Many Uses for Tea Tree Oil

The Many Uses for Tea Tree Oil

Natural products are frequently used today to fight infections and treat mild health problems due to the fact that people are becoming better educated and worry about the toxic ingredients found in conventional medicine.   Cleaning products using natural, non-toxic ingredients are also becoming more popular for similar reasons.

Melaleuca oil is the Australian name for tea tree oil that is one of these natural, plant based compounds that can be purchased inexpensively over the counter at most pharmacies or health food stores and used at home to treat many common symptoms and conditions.  Be sure to buy a high-grade oil though, as there are many diluted and weaker imitation products out there.

Tea tree oil or melaleuca can be used to fight many unsightly and uncomfortable health conditions such as acne, toenail fungus, skin tags, ringworm, fleas, psoriasis, yeast infections, lice, dandruff, warts, and more. Use the 100% pure type of tea tree oil to concoct recipes for toothpaste, face cleanser, shampoo, body wash, soap, body lotion, and more, or look for products with the ingredient in them.  The taste is not pleasant and the smell is quite strong, but it works wonders.

Tea tree oil used as a viral and bacterial disinfectant is also effective in household cleaners to replace the more common toxic and less environmentally safe products that have been available for years.   Tea tree oil can be used in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, family rooms, and more.  Dilute some in a spray bottle to wipe down kitchen and bathroom counters, door knobs, remote controllers, and light switches to keep germs at bay.  Add some to your laundry wash cycle to disinfect towels and sheets.  Even spray some in sports equipment bags to keep them fresh smelling and to kill bacteria lurking there.

Regardless of what purpose it is used for and where it is used, melaleuca or tea tree oil has been proven to be very effective at treating and preventing viral and bacterial infections as well as minor skin irritations.   Readily available today in the cosmetic or health department of most stores it is already becoming very popular in many homes.
